nathy!

Nothing but air. Nathy and I were surrounded by trees, grass, the cool autumn breeze, and the promise of an amazing sunset. this session was admittedly a bit shorter than others as we TOTALLY got lost on our way up the mountain. and yes, I was definitely driving. We had this crazy idea of going to this mountain that neither one of us had been to before, and as most people know I am not one to say no to adventure. A couple wrong turns, an illegal u-turn, and tons of laughter along the way and we had safely made it to la arboleda. Not sure if we would be able to find our way back home again, but greeted by some gorgeous light we set out to do what we do. and might I say? we did good. 😉

elena & kids

EMI-06:12:14_39

we had to run away.  in the late fall, elena and i started talking about scheduling a beach photo shoot. we were really looking forward to taking some photos of the kiddos wearing winter hats and oversized scarves. after having to reschedule a few times we were finally able to make a date stick. unfortunately that same morning the sky was grey and menacing. the winds were letting themselves be heard. as adventurous women we decided to give it a shot anyway, and we ventured out into the wild. the weather held out for quite a while and the kids had a great time playing on the beach, then just as quickly as we got there it started hailing. it came by so quickly that we had no option but to hide under a little shack and wait for it to subside. still, when life give you lemons… we had a blast encouraging the kids to jump up and down in the puddles and see who could make the biggest splash.

all in all, it definitely worked out and we were able to get some timeless photographs that i know they will love more and more as time goes by. thanks elena for being adventurous with me!

galindo – rivas::: family

2015-02-13_0035

we couldn’t have planned it. backtracking to when susana and i first talked about doing a winter shoot with the kids, victor and aitor, we had planned for some winter fun running around a mountain with oversized winter hats and scarves. the occasional puddle. pink cheeks as proof of the winter air. but nature had other plans. as the date neared we were suddenly surprised by a snowstorm. as one may suspect, we don’t get much snow in spain… at least not in this area. so we grabbed our colourful snow clothes and set out to have snow fights, race while your feet sink in, and scream down a slope on a sleigh. we couldn’t have planned it, but if we had it couldn’t have been any more fun.

nicky & tom::: trash the dress!!

2014-03-05_0584

saying it was cold would have been an understatement. it was freezing. 32 degrees farenheit isn’t exactly the best weather to go out and take some photos. especially with tom showing all kinds of leg! but armed with hand warmers and temporary winter coats nicky, tom, and i piled up into a van full of trees and made it to the most gorgeous location. loch-something-or-other. the snowy mountains, the reflections on the puddles, even the gloomy sky made for a pretty cozy and romantic scenario. so while i definitely felt guilty wearing a thick winter jacket and snowboarding “trousers” they huddled up for warmth, and might i say they looked absolutely adorable in doing so! 🙂
