beauty from chaos. i met fran over a year ago, while i was taking driver’s ed. it was only about an hour after we met, and 10 minutes into my driving experience, that another driver got distracted and rear-ended me right before entering the freeway. i stood there for an endless amount of time growing angrier and angrier as onlookers passed by in their cars and threw a smile my way, as if saying “look at the student driver getting in a wreck!” all i could do was get frustrated as they didn’t even know that i wasn’t the one that caused the accident. in the middle of this situation, this tall and super friendly bolivian guy i had just met offered to give me a hug. i can’t pass down a hug. once we were done driving we went out for a beer, and that was the beginning of our friendship.
as it turns out, life is about to throw us another curveball as fran will be moving back to his native bolivia in the next couple of months. talking about this upcoming life-changing event we decided that it was time for a good ‘ol portrait session… and well… i like to think that we do well when life throws us a curveball, so here’s to friendship, distracted drivers, and looking on the bright side!
